Esha Deol tied the knot with businessman Bharat Takhtani on June 29, 2012. Hema Malini had earlier tweeted, “Deols and Takhtanis are overjoyed to announce that @Esha_Deol and Bharat are expecting their first baby. We thank you all for all your good wishes.”

She had thanked everyone for wishing her elder daughter and expressed happiness of being a grandma for the second time.

Before Hema’s tweet, the news of Esha’s pregnancy was confirmed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who is writing the second book on the 68-year-old actor, Hema Malini. “Ya, actually I am writing a book so I visit their house often, and all I can say is Hemaji and the whole family is thrilled with Esha’s pregnancy, she is expecting the baby anytime in October, and she is at Hemaji’s house and Hemaji and Dharamji are obviously very happy! Bharat is also very excited and is taking most of the days off from work to spend time with Esha,” said Ram Kamal.

Esha was last seen in 2015 film Kill Them Young along with its Kannada and Tamil versions too. She was also a gang leader in reality TV series Roadies X2.

The actress and daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, welcomed her first child, a baby daughter at Hinduja hospital, Mumbai in the wee hours of the morning, according to a leading daily.

It was April 2017 when Esha’s pregnancy rumours made the rounds and Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who wrote the book on Esha’s mom and actress Hema Malini titled Beyond the Dream Girl, had confirmed the news and said to a leading tabloid, “Yes, Esha is pregnant and everyone in the family is delighted. After Ahana’s son, Darein, Hemaji and Dharamji are eagerly waiting to be grandparents again.”

When Pinkvilla asked Hema Malini on her reaction after hearing about her daughter’s pregnancy, the veteran actress revealed, “I was waiting for that (Esha’s pregnancy) and sensed it was happening but I didn’t want to ask. Esha told me when the time comes I will tell you. I said fine, I will wait. But we were always praying for the best to happen so we are very excited about it! My daughter is staying with me and I am looking after her as a mother. We keep talking about kya karna hai, kaise karnahai…"

Hema ji has also said to a leading daily, "If it’s a girl, I will teach her Bharatnatyam. If it’s a boy, he will have to learn the Georgian dance!"

Meanwhile, Esha and Bharat got married on June 29, 2012. The two were friends since childhood and had met during the inter-school competitions. Bharat had a huge crush on Esha and they became close friends. Though not many knew about the love blossoming between them, actor Ranveer Singhwas aware of it. Later, the two moved on with their work only to reunite during Hema Malini’s directorial Tell Me O Kkhuda.
