    The team is owned by The Wave Group, after the company bought the franchise on 17 September 2012. The group is involved in many businesses including sugar manufacturing, distilleries, paper manufacturing, real estate and retail management.

    Wave Group is envisioned by founder-leader Kulwant Singh Chadha. The Chadha Group has been integrated by his three sons; — late Gurdeep Singh Chadha, late Hardeep Singh Chadha, Rajinder Singh Chadha, and grandson Manpreet Singh (Monty) Chadha. Starting with a sugar crusher in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the group has progressively cast its footprint in diverse business industries. John Abraham is the co-owner of Delhi Waveriders. He owns 13% share of the team.

    Poll official to probe plaint against Rahul

    New Delhi, November 17
    The Election Commission has asked the returning officer of Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh to probe allegations against Rahul Gandhi of giving “wrong information” about his financial assets while filing his nomination papers ahead of the May-2009 Lok Sabha elections.

    Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy had written to the commission on October 31 alleging that Rahul had “misrepresented facts” in his declaration filed before the returning officer. Swamy had also attached documents that he claimed were from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). In the list of shareholders of Associated Journals it is mentioned that Rahul held around 3 lakh shares. These had not been declared in the affidavit filed by him at the time of filing his nomination papers, Swamy had alleged. — TNS

     

    Manmohan calls off dinner with BJP leaders

    New Delhi, November 17
    The dinner which was to be hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for BJP leaders tonight was called off following the death of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray. The dinner was cancelled on the request of BJP leader Sushma Swaraj who later tweeted about it.

    Veteran BJP leader LK Advani and leaders of the Opposition in the two Houses of Parliament, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, had been extended a special invitation by the Prime Minister to seek the cooperation of the principal Opposition party in the smooth running of the winter session commencing on November 22.

    As it braces for yet another stormy Parliament session in less than a week, the PM has hosted a series of dinners for political leaders even as a combined Opposition has sought a debate on the controversial policy on FDI in multi-brand retail which entails a vote.
