Meagan Monique Good (born August 8, ) is an American actress and model. She first gained critical attention for her role in the film Eve's Bayou () prior to landing the role of Nina in the Nickelodeon sitcom Cousin Skeeter (–). Good received further prominence after starring in the films Deliver Us from Eva (), Roll Bounce () and Stomp the Yard ().

In , Good featured in an ensemble cast of the film Think Like a Man. The following year, she played Joanna Locasto, the lead character on the NBC drama series Deception, and starred in the comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Good has also had supporting roles in the films One Missed Call (), Saw V (), The Unborn (), and as the superhero version of Darla Dudley in the DCEU films Shazam! () and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (). She co-produced and starred in Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black () for Amazon Prime Video.

Early life and family

Good was born on August 8, in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles. Her mother, Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, worked as Good's manager into her teens, and her father, Leondis "Leon" Good, is an LAPD police officer. Good was raised in Canyon Country (now known as Santa Clarita), California. She has three siblings, including older sister and fellow actress La'Myia Good. She began her acting career around the age of four.

According to Good, she grew up "super nerdy, super skinny, buckteeth, big ole afro and yet I had a sense of confidence about myself, like, 'they just don't get it yet.'" She has stated that she did not have any role models until early adulthood, when she began admiring actress Charlize Theron.

The show, which is produced byMonica Saunders-Weinberg (Hana Black Productions) and Eli Bauman, will begin performances on Feb. 23, in advance of an opening night on Feb. Performances will run through March  

The show was written, composed and directed by Bauman (“NBC’s “Maya & Marty”), a former Obama campaign organizer. The cast features T.J. Wilkins as Barack Obama, Shanice as Michelle Obama and Chad Doreck as Joe Biden. The show features L.A. band House of Vibe as &#;The Andrew Jackson Five&#; with Anthony “Brew&#; Brewster as musical director and keyboards along with Conrad Bauer (guitar), Corey Cofield, (bass) Phillip “Fish’ Fisher (drums) and Greg Raymond (keyboards).

Famke Janssen is set to join the cast of Barry, the indie drama centering on a young Barack Obama.

Devon Terrell and Anya Taylor-Joy, the star of the hit horror movie The Witch, are starring in Barry, beingdirected by Vikram Gandhi and produced by Black Bear Pictures along with Cinetic Media.

Barry explores the time when Obama was a college student in New York City and forged key relationships, including with a fellow student (Taylor-Joy).

Janssen will play Taylor-Joy’s sophisticated and opinionated mother.

EllarColtrane (Boyhood) and Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton) are among those already cast in the feature.

Janssen is coming off of last week’s announcement that she will star in NBC’s spinoff of hit series The Blacklist. The actress is best known for playing Jean Grey/Marvel Girl in the X-Men movies and for co-starring opposite Liam Neeson in the Taken action franchise.
