    When it comes to political issues, presidential aspirant John Carlos "JC" de los Reyes is known for his conservative stance. He has staunchly opposed issues that could have made him popular with the younger and more liberal generation such as gay rights, the Reproductive Health bill, and pre-marital sex.

    What most people don't know, however, is that before de los Reyes became the standard bearer of Ang Kapatiran Party (AKP)â&#;&#;a political grouping that promotes the teachings of the Catholic Churchâ&#;&#;he had a rebellious childhood that drove him to try marijuana and join a fraternity known for gang wars. He even sat as a judge for a gay contest organized by, in his words, his â&#;&#;homosexual friends" while he was a Sociology student at the University of the Philippines (UP) in Los Baños, Laguna. â&#;&#;I felt the need to belong because my family life was not stable. My parents had a rocky marriage. There was a time in my life that I sought security from my peers," he told His attitude changed after his parents, who were separated for five years, reconciled and formed a religious organization that advocated family values.     BORN February 14, , former Councilor and May presidential aspirant as John Carlo Gordon de los Reyes is married to Dunia Valenzuela with three children, Gabriel 10, Santiago 7 and Barbara 5. 


    Jc de los Reyes studied in Ateneo de Manila for his elementary education, and graduated in De la Salle for high school. He finished his B.A. in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, reputed to be one of the most orthodox Catholic Universities in America. Late he taught Philosophy in the then Center for Research and Communication, now the University of Asia and the Pacific and was under the tutelage of Fr. Joseph de Torre, a Spanish priest of the Holy Cross who wrote extensively on the social teachings of the Church. In , he ran and was elected City Councilor of Olongapo.

    John Carlos "JC" Gordon de los Reyes (born February 14, ) is the President of the Ang Kapatiran Party and a senatorial candidate for the Philippine midterm election. De los Reyes was a councilor in Olongapo and the presidential candidate of the Ang Kapatiran Party for the Philippine presidential election.

    Education and career

    De los Reyes studied at the Ateneo de Manila for his elementary education and graduated from De La Salle Santiago Zobel School for high school. He finished his Bachelor of Arts in Theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville.

    In late , he taught philosophy in the Center for Research and Communication, now known as the University of Asia and the Pacific. During that time, he was under the tutelage of Father Joseph de Torre, a Spanish priest of the Holy Cross who wrote about the social teachings of the Church.

    In , he finished his postgraduate studies in public administration from the University of the Philippines. In , he finished his law degree at Saint Louis University in Baguio.

    Personal life

    De Los Reyes is married to Filipino-Brazilian, Dunia Valenzuela-Delos Reyes, with whom he has four children: Gabriel, Santiago, Barbara, and Julianna.
