List of jam bands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following is a list of notable jam bands, or bands on the jam-band circuit. Jam band performances often feature extended musical improvisation ("jams") over rhythmic grooves and chord patterns, and long sets of music that cross genre boundaries.

October 30-31: With "official" hometown appearances on the decline, WP plays 2 historic homecoming shows in Athens at the newly-built Classic Center (on the site of the Mad Hatter Ballroom, where they played their first show). Guests include John Keane, David Blackmon, and Daniel Hutchens & Eric Carter of Bloodkin. The 'Halloween treat' debut is a cover of Bloodkin's Rotgut, though the show is highlighted by the unshelving of WP original Vacation and a few covers (Cream Puff War (The Grateful Dead), Dirty Business (New Riders of the Purple Sage), and Chainsaw City (Jerry Joseph)), all of which had not been played in several years. Coconut gets played, but the "Halloween-only" tradition was broken earlier in 1995 with two rare performances.
WP's last performance in Athens prior to this date was at Super Jam IV on June 12, 1994. Their next public performance in Athens would not be for another 2.5 years.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Grasshopper Pie has been playing its own brand of rock n roots music throughout Ohio and the surrounding region for the past decade.
The bands music revolves around tightly arranged, well-written songs, with room for live improvisation. Grasshopper Pie draws inspiration from classic rock and American roots music including blues, bluegrass, country and funk. The bands sound is its own.
Grasshopper Pies on-stage tightness has been hammered out through ten years of blood, sweat and tears on the regional rock club and music festival circuit. During this time, Grasshopper Pie has developed a loyal following and become a regular at some of the biggest music festivals and venues in the region.
Grasshopper Pie has shared the stage with Derek Trucks Band, Keller Williams, Ekoostik Hookah, Umphrey's McGee, Dickey Betts, Dark Star Orchestra, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Jazz Mandolin Project, Cyro Baptista, Charlie Hunter, David Nelson Band, Merle Saunders, Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band, The Big Wu, The Codetalkers with Colonel Bruce Hampton and more.
Grasshopper Pie has released two studio albums, Gypsy Sky in 2000 and Horizons in 2002. A live release was recorded on Nov. 5th of 2005. Stay tuned for samples in our audio section!
Each year, Grasshopper Pie co-hosts Tabfest, one of the fastest growing music festivals in the Midwest. The event features national, regional and local artists with proceeds donated Ronald McDonald House Charities. Visit www.tabfest.com for more information.
