List of The Grudge characters

The Grudge film series features a large cast of characters mainly created by screenwriter Stephen Susco and Takashi Shimizu. The film series focuses on people affected by a deadly curse that spreads like a virus and manifests itself in various ways, such as turning people homicidal or people being haunted, ultimately leading to their demise if they come in contact with the curse in any way.

All films in the series feature different protagonists, with the first being Karen Davis played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The protagonist of the second installment and Karen's younger sister Aubrey was played by Amber Tamblyn, while the protagonist of The Grudge 3, Lisa, was portrayed by Johanna Braddy.

The ghosts

The Ghosts are the only characters that appeared in all three of The Grudge films.

Kayako Saeki

Main article: Kayako Saeki

Kayako Saeki (portrayed by Takako Fuji and Aiko Horiuchi) is the primary antagonist of The Grudge series. In life, she was an ordinary housewife and mother. When she was a child, her mother performed unorthodox exorcisms and passed her clients' curses to Kayako instead of herself. Kayako and her son Toshio were later killed in a fit of rage by her husband Takeo after he found her journal and discovered that she had feelings for an American man named Peter. Becoming an Onryō after her death, she now haunts the house, along with her husband, son, and her son's pet cat, Mar. In place of a voice, she usually makes a throaty, rattling noise.

Toshio Saeki

Toshio Saeki (portrayed by Yuya Ozeki, Ohga Tanaka and Shimba Tsuchiya) was the son of Kayako and Takeo. After he witnessed the death of his mother at the hands of his father, Takeo drowned Toshio in the bathtub, before killing his pet cat. Toshio's cursed spirit was left to inhabit the house, along with the spirits of his parents and cat. He makes a meowing noise instead of speaking.

She is best recognized among kaiju fans as the recurring character Princess Emerana in the Ultra Series, a role which she first played in the 2010 film Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial. Tsuchiya is a fan of anime and tokusatsu, and has cited the Toei series Changerion as a particular favorite. She was cast as the female lead in the 2022 comedic kaiju drama What to Do with the Dead Kaiju?. Tsuchiya is the older sister of actor Shimba Tsuchiya, who portrayed the civilian form of Ultraman Ribut in Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga and provided the voice of Tahima in the Japanese dub of Pacific Rim Uprising.

The anime faced some production delays earlier in the year after its initial premiere. Act 1 of the series concluded with the sixth episode on September 12, 2024, while Act 2 debuted with the seventh episode on October 17, 2024 after a recap special.

TRUMP series playwright and original creator Kenichi Suemitsu wrote the series screenplay and script for the anime, with Hiroshi Nishikiori (Gekijouban Idolish Seven: Live 4bit – Beyond the Period) as director, Araya as original character designer, Yoko Ito (Little Busters!, Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma) as character designer and chief animation director, and Shunsuke Wada (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage play) as music composer. J.C.STAFF is handling the animation production.

Suemitsu’s original TRUMP stage play opened in Japan in 2009. It has inspired several other plays, short stories, and live concerts, as well as a manga adaptation by Hamaguri that was serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine from November 4, 2020 to December 4, 2023. Abstract

The circadian clock is the biological mastermind governing orderly execution of bodily processes throughout the day. In recent years, an emerging topic of broad interest is clock-modulatory agents, including small molecules from both synthetic and natural origins, and their potential applications in disease models. Nobiletin is a naturally occurring flavonoid with the greatest abundance found in citrus peels. Extensive research has shown that Nobiletin is endowed with a wide range of biological activities, yet its mechanism of action was unclear. We recently found that, through unbiased chemical screening, Nobiletin impinges on the clock machinery to activate temporal control of downstream processes within the cell and throughout the body. Using animal models of diseases and aging, we and others illustrate potent beneficial effects of Nobiletin on cellular energetics in both periphery and brain to promote healthy aging. Given its excellent safety profile, Nobiletin may represent a promising candidate molecule for nutraceutical and chronotherapeutic development against chronic and age-related neurodegenerative diseases.

    Introduction

Nobiletin (NOB; 5,6,7,8,3’,4’-hexamethoxyflavone) is a naturally occurring polymethoxylated flavonoid (PMF) broadly found in citrus fruits, particularly in the peels. Like many other flavonoids, NOB was first found to display anti-fungal activities [1]. Over the years, hundreds of laboratory studies, along with a handful of clinical tests in the form of food items (e.g., orange juice) or extracts, have demonstrated a wide array of NOB activities against oxidative stress, inflammation, cancer progression, metabolic and cardiovascular disorders, aging and age-relat
