Dr gifty anti biography of nancy

  • Gifty Anti, as she is affectionately
  • 1Are you an early bird or night owl?

    Night Owl

    2Are you pro- or anti-pun?

    Pro-pun

    3Do you have any pets?

    No

4Do you have any science-themed home decor?

    No

5Do you prefer cooking or baking?

    Cooking

6Do you prefer sweet or savory?

    Sweet

7Do you speak any other languages?

I deceptively come off as an English-only speaker, but I understand the dominant language in Ghana, Twi, pretty well. I can&#;t speak it though to the disappointment of my parents and extended family,.

8If you could switch professions, what would you do?

I would become a professional dancer or college counselor for high school students. I find myself often watching dance breaks from Step Up movies or just being in awe of people who dance. I think it is one of the hardest professions because of how much vulnerability it demands. Regarding the position as a college counselor, I love mentoring and teaching young people, and I sort of function as an ad-hoc counselor for many minority youth already!

9If you could switch science fields, what field would you want to work in?

Economics is honestly the best fit for me. It marries math with political science, sociology, and other social sciences well if you err on the side of doing interdisciplinary work. I would say though that I would follow after my dad and delve into Epidemiology, which is the field I considered right before I came across Economics.

10If you got a plane ticket right now, where would it go?

Dubai, and not for the destination, but for the plane ride. I literally want to fly first class United Arab Emirates to Dubai and then fly back. I can&#;t afford anything in that city, haha!

11If you had one superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation, the question of just being able to teleport wherever you want whenever you want would be so amazing.

12Is there anything you strongly recommend we watch and/or read and/or listen to?

    In li

Yolande: The Bible says, “Many are the children of a barren woman” and even though you counsel and mentor so many young women did you ever think you would have a child of your own?

Gifty Anti: When you avail yourself to God and give Him your all, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have issues, but when you open your heart and reach out to people and follow your ministry, God has a way of taking care of you. I was told by doctors that I couldn’t carry a baby. I went for an ordinary examination with a doctor I met through my TV show. I went to him because of painful fibroids and menstrual cramps and he took a look at it and told me that the fibroid was sitting on my hip and that’s what was causing the problem. So he recommended surgery to take it out and so we did the surgery and then he said your womb is fine, you can carry a baby – let’s start treatment. And I’m here with a baby.

Yolande: That’s amazing that you had a baby naturally at 47 years old. So many women give up at 40 because we’ve been told that it’s impossible to conceive a child naturally beyond a certain age.

Gifty Anti: I had a conversation with my husband and told him, you are a chief, people will be asking you for a child and I can’t give you a baby – not I may not but I can’t because that is the point that I reached. I had three different doctors tell me that I couldn’t bear children. I tried IVF four times, it didn’t happen but with treatment when it was time, God gave it to me.  And guess what, at the time God gave it to me – I called my daughter Nyame Animuonyam, which means “for the glory of God.” The number of women whose hope has been rekindled, who say God is faithful, who know that God did it for me. There’s a young lady who is pregnant now who said when she heard that I had given birth, she said Lord, if you did it for Auntie Gifty, you can do it for me. Now she’s pregnant.

Yolande: Your story speaks to me on so many levels especially as a single woman without chi

  • When Strong Women Cry

"There is nothing more painful for a strong woman than when she is told to be strong or applauded for being strong, when in actual fact, she is broken and dying silently inside, hoping and wishing she could let it all out. It really hurts, especially, when she has been projecting herself, personally, as a strong woman". Oheneyere Gifty Anti.

This book is meant as a 'detox manual' for women, especially those often tagged as strong. It only affirms that these women can be found everywhere in society. It is my prayer that this book will help them accept and understand their vulnerabilities as humans and freely cry, because "tears often wash away the old and open the door for the new."
