    De Plashoeve in het Noord-BrabantseLieshout is omstreeks het jaar 1050 gesticht als ontginningsboerderij in het domein Lieshout. Ongeveer honderd jaar na de uitgifte werd de hoeve eigendom van de Sint-Servaaskerk te Maastricht. In 1201 kreeg de abdij van Floreffe de hoeve in leen. Deze abdij verwierf het volle eigendom in 1283. In 1698 is de hoeve verkocht aan de toenmalige pachter. De Plashoeve bleef zeven generaties lang eigendom van diens familie.

    De bewoners van de Plashoeve zijn bekend vanaf 1628. Zij waren, als eigenaren van een grote voormalige domeinhoeve, belangrijke personen in het dorpsleven en velen van hen bekleedden bestuursfuncties in de heerlijkheid Lieshout. Ondanks hun relatieve welstand hadden zij een hard bestaan. De schrale zandgronden vergden zware arbeid en de oogsten waren karig. Er werden na de vrede van Münster bovendien extra belastingen opgelegd, die amper opgebracht konden worden.

    De huidige boerderij is omstreeks 1750 gebouwd als langgevelboerderij. Vijftig jaar later is de hoeve ingrijpend verbouwd. In de daaropvolgende decennia kromp de oppervlakte van de percelen die tot de hoeve behoorden door opeenvolgende boedelscheidingen van 34 naar 2 hectare. In 1868 is de Plashoeve op een openbare verkoping verkocht aan een familie die de hoeve vier generaties in bezit hield. In 1970 is de hoeve opnieuw verkocht. De nieuwe eigenaar restaureerde de boerderij en verkreeg voor de Plashoeve de monumentenstatus.

    De Plashoeve, tot de 18e eeuw hoeve vander Plasse genoemd, is omstreeks 1050 als mansus (domeinhoeve) gesticht in het voormalige domein Lieshout. In die tijd had het woord hoeve nog niet de betekenis van boerenbedrijf. Het was een oppervlaktemaat waarmee de hoeveelheid grond werd aangeduid waarvan een boer met zijn gezin kon leven.     When It Melts (Dutch: Het smelt) is a 2023 drama film written and directed by Veerle Baetens in her directorial debut. It is loosely based on the 2016 novel The Melting (Het smelt) by Lize Spit. The film stars Charlotte De Bruyne and Rosa Marchant, and explores themes of childhood trauma, the influence of family dynamics, and the struggle for personal identity.

    The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival where it competed for the Grand Jury Prize Dramatic. At the 2023 Ensor Awards, When It Melts received eight nominations, including Best Film and Best Director for Baetens.

    Plot

    Eva grows up with two boys in the small village of Bovenmeer. As they reach adolescence, the boys come up with cruel schemes, and Eva is faced with the difficult decision of whether to go along with them, a choice she feels powerless to avoid. Thirteen years after that fateful summer spiraled out of control, Eva returns to her hometown with a block of ice in the trunk of her car, intent on confronting the trauma of her past.
