Sister M. Carmela Dies at the Age of 97

Sister M. Carmela was the first native Schoenstatt Sister of Mary from Chile. She belonged to our community for 66 years. She was born in Collupilli, an agricultural village in the south of Chile. She ventured the courageous step of entering into the postulancy of this German community that had arrived in Temuco, Chile, only six years previously and was still in the process of building up. Her deep devotion to the Virgin Mary was confirmed in Schoenstatt’s Marian charism.

Sister M. Carmela was a happy, communicative, sociable, and loving personality. She could express these qualities in nursing, a task she loved. She took care of the sick – children and adults – in several cities, especially in a polyclinic in Temuco, among the poorest, where she was much appreciated. She visited the sick at home, practiced pastoral care, and provided food and clothing for the needy. She was an expert on alternative medicine and knew about the medicinal uses of herbs, and her recipes were widely known. She was exemplary in her devotion to her fellow human beings.
In old age she lived near the national shrine in Santiago, Bellavista. There she welcomed the people who visited the shrine of the MTA. She was good at listening, giving advice, and leading to the Lord. She always had something to give away. So she made tangible the grace of finding a home, which the Blessed Mother gives in the shrine.
She died peacefully on March 15, 2018.

Carmella Danielle DeCesare (born July 1, 1982) is an American model who was Playboy magazine's Miss April 2003 and Playmate of the Year for 2004. She is also known for her time in WWE as a WWE Diva search contestant. She was featured in the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in the players' wives feature.

Early life

Carmella DeCesare was born July 1, 1982. A native of Avon Lake, Ohio, she is of Italian and Puerto Rican ancestry.

Career

Modeling career

Carmella DeCesare came to Playboy's attention after she applied to a Fox reality show Who Wants to Be a Playboy Centerfold search. After she was selected as a finalist, she withdrew from the competition due to having second thoughts about the endeavor. When Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner learned this, he invited her to his birthday party and convinced her to change her mind. She was subsequently chosen as a Playboy Cyber Girl of the Week, then a Cyber Girl of the Month before becoming Playboy's Miss April in 2003.

DeCesare appeared in the 2005 Playmates at Play at the Playboy Mansion swimsuit calendar as calendar girl of March. The calendar was the inaugural Playmates at Play calendar and it was shot on the grounds of the Playboy Mansion in 2004. It was Playboy's first attempt at creating a non-nude swimsuit calendar featuring Playmates similar in style with those from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In 2005, DeCesare received breast implants. In an episode of the E! reality-TV series The Girls Next Door in August 2005, she said that her implants looked fake because they were new and had not fully settled.

Carmella Hernandez (born Alejandra Santiago) is the estranged daughter of Pedro Santiago, a brilliant cold fusion scientist who defected from Cuba to work for the US government.

History[]

Carmella was just a child when her father, Pedro, defected to the US and the CIA promised to reunite him with his family within a month. However, her mother died and she was put into the system and given a new name and identity, thus, the trail to reunite her with her father went cold.

17 years later and Alejandra (now, Carmella) is part of a Cuban women's soccer team who are set to play in L.A., and the She Spies go undercover to track her down, but they do not know which player is the real Alejandra. D.D. and Shane interview all the women, even Carmella while Cassie gets DNA samples from the locker room. However, another player, Juanita pretends to be Alejandra.

At some point, Carmella is captured by the Cuban Government, who tearfullyreunite her with her father and the two embrace in a hug. The She Spies have figured out the Cuban agents' secret plan and infiltrate their hide out, taking out Juanita and the Cuban agents' and freeing Alejandra and Pedro.
