  • I am a biathlete competing for the US Biathlon Team and the Craftsbury Green Racing Project.  Biathlon is a wildly popular sport in northern Europe; it combines cross country ski racing and rifle marksmanship.  I began skiing at age 2 with my family in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and have been cross country ski racing since age 5.  I learned how to shoot after graduating from Dartmouth College in 2008 when I moved to Lake Placid, NY and joined US Biathlon’s development program.   For years, my biggest goal was to earn a spot on the US World Cup team, which I finally achieved in November 2011.  From there, my season continued to get better and better, culminating with a 5TH PLACE at 2012 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! This result tied the best finish ever by a US woman.

I currently  live in Vermont and am a member of a local professional ski team, the Craftsbury Green Racing Project.  We are a group of professional cross country skiers who explore issues of sustainability and promote endurance sports in our community. I split my time between Craftsbury and Lake Placid, NY, the headquarters of the national team.  Besides skiing and shooting, I love hiking, gardening, camping, biking, trail running, unicycling, canoeing, and practically anything that involves mountains and the outdoors. In the past couple years, my teammates have introduced me to hunting, which is quickly becoming a new hobby.
